Words I’m Loving – Of Parenting & Letting Go

“Parents rarely let go of their children, so children let go of them. They move on. They move away. The moments that used to define them - a mother's approval, a father's nod - are covered by moments of their own accomplishments. It is not until much later, as the skin sags and the heart weakens, that children understand; their stories, and all their accomplishments, sit atop the stories of their mothers and fathers, stones upon stones, beneath the waters of their lives.”

Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven

The mother in me wants to remember these words forever. I’ve only spent a little over a year with my son but my attachment to him, in this short period of time, is stronger than so much I’ve spent an entire lifetime on. I shudder to think, what will be of this attachment, as I spend more years with him. How then can parents let go… but they must.. to keep this precious bond alive and going on for as long as we are here....

P.S. I shared some more of Mitch Albom’s awesome quotes on my Twitter stream, you can read them here.

Words I’m Loving – in Paulo Coelho’s Tweets

Just like his books, Paulo’s tweets on Twitter are equally inspiring. Here’s a few he’s dished out recently that I’m loving. Each quote is brilliance woven together.

Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering.

Avoiding problems you need to face is avoiding the life you need to live.

The world only gets better because people risk something to make it better.

Tears are words that need to be written.

If you're brave to say "goodbye", life will reward you with a new "hello".

Faith

(Via)

My life has always been about trusting Him and if things didn’t work out, I’d say to myself ‘He knows best’. There’s so much power in these three words, enough to take us through many of life’s little hiccups smoothly, sanely, easily.

Somewhere along the years though, I forgot all about it.

And He has His ways to always get you back on track and remind you that He is indeed the Master of your being, your soul.

And I give in and say, “Yes Sir, I am listening now, you’ve got my attention. And oh yes, I have submitted the reigns of my life back in your hands.”

He seems like a Happy Man.

I feel so happy too.

“As your faith is strengthened, you will find that there is no longer the need to have a sense of control, that things will flow as they will, and that you will flow with them, to your great delight and benefit.” - Emmanuel Teney

Sometimes you’ve just got to do

what you reallllllllyyyyy want to do :) and I think I am just about to do that.

Wish me luck.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Intelligent Thought

I’m all about a lot of thoughts :) Found one this morning in Gulf News submitted by one of the readers and loved it.

If you cry at trouble, it grows double and
If you laugh at trouble, it disappears just like a bubble   :D :D

(From  Heeral Shivnani’s SMS published in the paper)

Bubble

This one is for keeps as we step into 2010.

Profound Thought

When I had nothing to lose, I had everything.
When I stopped being who I am, I found myself.
