Happened to catch You’ve Got Mail on the telly a couple of nights ago and it’s amazing how differently I connected to the movie, its characters and dialogues, now, then from when I first saw it many years ago.
Makes me want to go back and pick up some classic movies and books again and re-live them.
Is it just me or have you experienced this too?
Staying with this movie, thought I’d share some of my fav lines:
"The odd thing about this form of communication is that you're more likely to talk about nothing than something. But I just want to say that all this nothing has meant more to me than so many somethings.”
- From an e-mail Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) writes to Joe Fox (Tom Hanks)

I have a my own copy of this classic movie and watch it whenever I feel low..
Meg is my fav actress.... loved her in When Harry Met Sally & French Kiss. Have you seen these movies?
I saw When Harry many years ago but didn't really connect to it, guess was too distracted/ in a rush/ tired or what :)
But want to get hold of the DVD again and French Kiss, nooo, but will do so very sooon now that you recommend it :)
Absolutely.
Have noticed how manier times I am such good friends with someone I've probably never met, or met briefly when we were kids but connected so well online.
At the same time, this does'nt always translate into real life quite so seamlessly as one would hope. I suppose a lot of times we are more fluent and confident with a strong sense of self online as opposed to face-to-face, which is a bit of a pity given that nothing can quite capture the magic of physical world communication, but hey- welcome to the new digital age huh?
